Build Day Six, Dry Sump Horn Mount and Handbrake Cable

Bit of a slow day really.  Derek (my sister boyfriend) came round to lend a hand... We popped over to the moon and stars pub in Rushden, Hertfordshire for the North Herts Meet.  Met Carl, Stuart, Richard and his son James, and Chris...  I was hoping to see a few seven's to stick my head in and around the engine bay to familiarise myself with fixings, albeit most would be different to the R500.

Got cracking on the build around 2pm in the end.
Handbrake in Place with 2 bolts. Not sure if to use the top or bottom front bolt, so will check with Derek tomorrow, and also I believe the connector goes into one of the two switch sockets - not sure which one, so will double check what happens there tomorrow too.

As the R500 has a dry sump the horns don't fit in their 'normal place' so you have to drill an 8mm hole in the front of the steering column chassis section and bolt the horns to the hole you drilled using the supplied 32mm spacer.

  1. Cracking on Dan, nice work, and top blog. Looks like a whole lot of fun, made easier by the magnetic torch, clearly. Have they got any seats for you yet? Looking forward to seeing the car soon. Steve.

    1. Cheers matey.
No news on the Instruction manual, alloy wheel replacement, seats, harnesses, hood, doors, fuel pump or air filter that I've paid for. Looks like I best put a call into Caterham now.... Ring Ring...
