Academy Car - Day Four - Back in the Office

Literally!  I was back in the office today, and will be until Thursday I think 😓  I was going to take this week off in full, but, I underestimated how long it'd take to get the car painted.

Although I have been 'in the office' today, I have managed to pop to the powder coaters (as there was a bit of a colour catastrophe! which is now resolved), I also dropped some bits of for possible anodising at a local metal finishing company, and Dave at Daytona has made the progress he wanted to on the bodywork.

The primer has been guide coated, then dry flatted with p320 (wet and dry sandpaper) then re-guide coated and dry flatted with p500 (wet and dry sandpaper) and then wet flatted with p800 (wet and dry sandpaper).

The primer is now super smooth, so the base and clear coats will sit nice and flat on the panels.  It'll be the shiniest Academy car there's been, well that's until I get it on track!

So nearly everything is ready for masking and possibly paint tomorrow... I'm really looking forward to seeing some paint on the panels, as I'm dying to get the car back home and to get cracking on with the build!
